Welcome

The Oklahoma City Chapter services Tinker Air Force Base and the surrounding greater Oklahoma City area. Tinker AFB consists of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center; the 72d Air Base Wing; the 552d Air Control Wing; the Navy's Strategic Communications Wing One; the 507th Air Refueling Wing; AFSPC's 38th Cyberspace Engineering Group; and 45 other associate units. The Chapter holds monthly luncheon General Meetings the second Tuesday of each month, with designated speakers or interactive discussion panels. The Chapter also holds an annual Technology Exposition, teaming with local vendors, including a Scholarship Golf Tournament. We continue to work with local schools and universities, such as the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the Oklahoma School of Science and Math, and have honored many students and several local teachers at our luncheons with scholarships and grants to further educational pursuits. We will also continue to work to expand our interaction with the local small businesses via a partnership with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center, Government Contracting Assistance Program, in the hopes that we will encourage more small business membership, sponsorship, and participation in our Chapter.

OKLAHOMA CITY CHAPTER: MicroAutomation CEO Presents on Next Generation 9-1-1
In January, the chapter met in person and online to conduct their monthly chapter luncheon meeting and invited Suresh Gursahaney, CEO and NG9-1-1 thought leader of MicroAutomation, a leading provider of Next Generation 9-1-1 Solutions, to be their guest speaker. The chapter services Tinker Air Force Base and the surrounding greater Oklahoma City area.

Gursahaney was awarded the Oklahoma City Chapter coin after his 'Modernizing Emergency Communications with the DoD' presentation at the chapter meeting. The presentation explored the challenges of enabling the U.S. Defense Department to support modern emergency communication solutions. Specifically, the current limitations of 9-1-1 communications at Defense Department bases and solutions for how the armed forces can transition from basic 9-1-1 services to Next Generation 9-1-1.

"It was an honor and privilege to be able to present new ways of using Next Generation 9-1-1 technology to support the people who protect and serve our country," said Gursahaney. "Security, cost and standardization are some of the key challenges for DoD. I shared several solutions for overcoming those challenges and how to transform a legacy Emergency Operations Center within the DoD."

Suresh also briefed the 16th Air Force's 38th Cyberspace Engineering and Installation Group at Tinker Air Force Base earlier in the morning on Next Generation 9-1-1, Command Post and Call Center technologies.
